Sürdürülebilir çevre, gelecek nesillerin kendi ihtiyaçlarını karşılama yeteneğinden ödün vermeden günümüzün ihtiyaçlarını karşılayan bir gelişme biçimidir. Son yıllarda  sürdürülebilirlik düzeyini ölçen en dikkat çekici göstergelerden biri de ekolojik ayak izidir. Ekolojik ayak izi  dünya üzerinde bıraktığımız olumsuz etkileri sayısal olarak ifade ettiği için çevreye yönelik tutum ve davranışlarımızı olumlu yönde değiştirebilmemizde öğretici olarak sahip olduğumuz bilgilerden daha etkili bir eğitim aracıdır. Romanya, Moldova, Türkiye, Yunanistan ve Letonya’dan okulların yer aldığı ve Ekim ayında başlayan Save Environment With 3R’s e-Twinning projesi final çalışması, proje üye öğrencilerinin karbon ayak izini azaltma eğitimlerinin ardından, son ölçek uygulaması  ve karbon ayak izi ölçme çalışması ile tamamlanıyor. Okul  Müdürü Başöğrt.Hüseyin GÜNAYDIN ve öğretmenimiz G.Betül KELEKÇİBAŞI’ nın öğrenci ekipleri ile yer aldığı projenin sonuçları değerlendiğinde, çevre eğitimi temasında yapılan farkındalık çalışmalarının ve bilgilendirme faaliyetlerinin beklendik davranış değişikliği oluşturduğu ve kazanımların proje hedefleri ile uyumlu olduğu saptanmıştır. 

A sustainable environment is a form of development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In recent years, one of the most striking indicators measuring the level of sustainability is the ecological footprint. Since the ecological footprint numerically expresses the negative effects we leave on the world, it is a more effective educational tool than the information we have as an instructor in changing our attitudes and behaviors towards the environment in a positive way. The final work of the Save Environment With 3R's e-Twinning project, which includes schools from Romania, Moldova, Turkey, Greece and Latvia and started in October, is completed with the final scale application and carbon footprint calculation study, after the carbon footprint reduction training of the project member students. When the results of the project, in which the school principal Headmaster Hüseyin GÜNAYDIN and our teacher G.Betül KELEKÇİBAŞI took part, were evaluated, it was determined that the awareness studies and information activities carried out on the theme of environmental education created the expected behavioral change and were compatible with the project objectives.
